Lander Staff,

We did it! We made it through week #1 of the 2026-2027 school year! I was so pleased with how everyone embodied the theme of "Powered by Grit." The halls and classrooms all look amazing! Everyone plays a role in making Lander a great place to be, and Mike and I are thrilled that we get to work here with all of you!

It has been great to see and hear you all welcoming our students into Lander. We know that many of our students need the care and consistency that you all provide.

Mike and I will have been conducting our grade level expectations meetings where we reinforce all of the expectations you have already communicated to our students. As we roll out our new systems of behavioral expectations and interventions, I want to thank you all for working through the kinks with us. Rolling out a new system takes time, but we believe it will be great in the long run.

Grade 3 Guide: Shows how to download Record Book data and identify students with a percentile rank of 29 or below. It also includes an alternative method using Passage Oral Reading CPM scores. STAR CBM Grade 3 RIMP Guide 2026-27

On the September 22 PD Day, we will have a three-hour training that will focus on interpreting mCLASS assessment data and using Boost and will be provided for all K–8 math staff and interventionists.

In the meantime, there are some great resources available to help you familiarize yourself with Boost.

All staff members should be handing out Pride Paws. This is very important to help reinforce positive behavior around the building. There are templates in the systems folder, and we also have some copied and cut in the office.

Feel free to send Mike any pictures of the awesome stuff happening in your classrooms and around the school - field trips, science experiments, kind gestures, etc. We plan to continue to post a lot this year on Facebook to really highlight the great things happening at Lander for families to see.
