School Counselor

My name is Tara Kelley, and I’m the new school counselor at Lander Elementary School--taking over for the infamous Rebecca Schmidt, who passionately served the Mayfield City School District for over 30 years. My hope is to make this transition as seamless as possible for our community.

I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Child & Family Psychology from John Carroll University, and my Master’s Degree in School Counseling from Niagara University. Post graduation, I moved to Colorado Springs, CO, where I worked as a school counselor at Otero Elementary School within Harrison City School District 2 for four years. Upon meeting my husband and having our firstborn daughter, Shiloh, we decided to move back home and be closer to family. We have since welcomed our second daughter, Marley. For the last two years, I have worked at Saint Albert the Great in North Royalton, OH. I’m thrilled to rejoin public education here at Lander and serve as your school counselor.
